COVID-19: working safely

Risk assessment

To protect our staff, COVID-19 risk assessments have been carried out within our office and for our on site engineers. Risk assessments will be regularly reviewed.

Sentinor will:
- Identify what work based activities and situations could cause transmission of the virus.
- Identify who could be at risk.
- Decide how likely it is that someone could be exposed to the virus.
- Act to remove the activities and situations that could cause transmission and control the risk.

Cleaning and hygeine

Sentinor will protect any office based staff that are unable to work from home by ensuring the workplace is regularly cleaned. Cleaning will include disinfecting places where more than one person will touch the same surface. Desks and work spaces will also be wiped clean and disinfected.
Office staff will each have access to their own personal hand sanitiser and antibacterial surface wipes. Hand sanitiser will be provided in main contact and access points throughout the building.

All people visiting will be instructed to use hand sanitiser before entering the building.

On site engineers are often working alone out of their own vans. Engineers must ensure their vehicles are regularly cleaned and must use their provided hand sanitiser when moving between their vehicle and the site they are working on. Any on site systems and work surfaces must be wiped and disinfected before any work can be carried out.

Protecting home workers

Staff working from home are regularly contacted to ensure they are healthy and safe. Home workers are encouraged to keep in touch with the office and other staff working from so that workers do not feel isolated or disconnected from the company.

Regular group video calls are organised to ensure all staff members are receiving the support they need whilst working from home.

PPE

As well as antibacterial wipes and hand sanitiser, all staff members (office based, home workers and on site engineers) will each have access to face masks and any other PPE when needed.

Social distancing in the workplace

Strict social distancing guidelines will be followed by all members of staff. People should stay two meters apart, where possible. If a distance of two meters cannot be maintained, additional control measures such as face masks, cleaning of surfaces and regular use of hand sanitiser will be followed.

All desks and work spaces will be spaced out to a distance of two meters, with staff members facing away from each other.

Delivery drivers will be instructed to use hand sanitiser before entering the building. Deliveries should be left in the lobby of the building and only one person should be in the lobby at one time.

Managing work-related stress

Stress in the workplace can be caused by excessive pressure and increased demands.
All members of staff are encouraged to talk to someone if they have any issues or are feeling stressed or overwhelmed.

Regular video calls with all staff members in and out of the office will be held to ensure everyone is receiving the support that they need.
